It was an exercise for psychology. We had to follow vague drawing instructions. I drew a bare tree when the teacher said to draw a tree. I wasn't surprised when she said "A bare tree could mean depression." But I was, when you, a total stranger, asked, "Are you depressed?" I just shrugged. I was never more relieved to throw away a piece of paper.
