I asked my mom if my girlfriend could come to my aunt's birthday party.
She told me it might "shock the older relatives too much." 
 
 It pissed me off knowing my brother was bringing his girlfriend to the party, so I asked her what was her real reason. 
 
 Her answer was that my brother's relationship was normal and mine was not. 
 
 I'm a lesbian.
