I can't explain to my boyfriend why I cry so often. Especially not why it brings me to tears when he tells me he's proud to be with me. I can't explain because I don't think he'll ever understand that he's the first person to love me so much. And he'll never understand how badly a lifetime of emotional abuse can mess a girl up.
