Today, in class, my friend leaned over and told me that she wished she were as skinny as I am.
I pulled back my sleeve and showed her the scars on my wrist. 
 
 For two years, I kept a rubber band there and snapped it every time I was hungry. 
 
 I'll never forget what I did because of those scars.
