About Benni
14-year-old Benni Cinkle appeared in Rebecca Black's Friday music video, which became an online sensation in Spring 2011 and received approximately 180 million views. At first, Benni drew Internet fire from viewers around the world. They called her many harsh names, the kindest being "That girl in pink that dances awkwardly." But she met the criticism with wit and candor and soon, would-be cyber bullies were die-hard Benni fans.In just a few short months, Benni has captured the attention of millions around the world and has used her platform to form a non-profit organization affectionately named That Girl in Pink Foundation to better help the causes she is most passionate about.
Benni's single and relationship with SBSIn September 2011, Benni released her single and music video, Can You See Me Now. The song (originally a ballad) was written by Benni in 2010 when she was reading what kids were posting online on an anonymous website : SixBillionSecrets. Their stories of abuse, depression, molestation, and self-mutilation inspired her to write her message of hope for all troubled teens around the world.
Her song is on iTunes selling for 99 cents. Benni is donating 100% of net proceeds to organizations like:- The Trevor Project (crisis intervention for suicidal gay, lesbian, questioning youths)
- GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network)
- TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms)
- Childline (UK organization that provides online support for teens)
